Aparthotels in Spain in both city centre locations and in Spanish Resorts can prove an excellent choice for families, groups and couples looking for extra self contained space, whilst retaining a hotel service, usually buffet styled meals. Aparthotels or Apartment Hotels in Spain are usually graded one to four keys, although the hybrid mix of hotel and apartment service often means grading is presented using the star system for aparthotels, so the odd 5 star grade, particularly in city centres such as Madrid with luxury apart hotels creeps in.
In the Spanish resorts, aparthotels are superb options for families, with aparthotels in Costa resort hotspots such as Salou, on the Costa Almeria at Roquetas de Mar and in Benidorm, Marbella and Lloret de Mar. Most of these large resort aparthotels will offer numerous on-site facilities such as restaurants and bars, in-house entertainment, swimming pools and leisure facilities, money exchange and so on. Self catering option will usually be available, keeping the price down and offering greater flexibility, alongside half-board and full-board optons. Aparthotel options are numerous here on Iknow Spain across all the popular Spanish Mediterranean resorts, plus also in Spanish cities such as Barcelona and Madrid, and in skiing hotspots such as Andorra.
Most of the Spanish resort aparthotels in resort hotspots such as Benidorm, Marbella, Salou, Nerja and on the Costa Almeria are large leisure village complexes, with a choice of swimming pools and numerous facilities such as kids clubs, entertainment, restaurants, bars, and extensive gardens in which to roam. Facilities in apartments, duplex and studios within aparthotels offer that little bit extra than hotels, with kitchenette, dining area, safety deposit, fridge/mini bar, air conditioning as standard and satellite tv all offered. You'll usually have either a balcony or terrace too.
The big benefit of choosing an apartment, bungalow, villa or studio within a Spanish city or resort aparthotel is space, but also flexibility. You'll have restaurants, bars and leisure facilities often all on-site or in the locality, but you've the choice to do either self catering or to hook into these faciltiies on a B&B, half board or full board basis. Spanish Aparthotels are great for groups of friends, or families with older children looking for that little bit extra flexibility to do their own thing, rather than opting for an all inclusive hotel package.
Spanish Aparthotels can vary in size, from huge aparthotel leisure complexes in Benidorm (Costa Blanca), Roquetas de Mar (Costa Almeria) and Benalmadena (Costa del Sol), to small and cosy aparthotels in Nerja (Costa del Sol) or in Spanish city centre locations such as Seville and Barcelona. In large Spanish resort aparthotel complexes you can expect a full on-site leisure service including swimming pools, often games, kids clubs, mini golf, gol and restaurants. Aparthotels usually offer a choice of studio flats or small apartments, with kitchenette facilities, sitting and dining rooms areas and bedrooms. The advantage is very much to do with space. Bathrooms will be well equipped, air conditioning standard and most will include a balcony or terrace.
