Barcelona Airport is one of Spain's busiest, and indeed today it's a European hub airport. Situated just 3km from Barcelona port and 12km from Barcelona City Centre to the south west of Barcelona, the airport is entrance for not just the huge number of international and national visitors to Barcelona but also visitors heading for the Costa Dorada and in some cases the Costa Brava resorts (although Girona Airport takes now most of the weight of Costa Brava visitors).
Numerous airlines fly to Barcelona Airport direct from most UK airports including cheap flights from London Heathrow to Barcelona, cheap flights Glasgow to Barcelona and direct flights from Liverpool to Barcelona. (see the airlines listings on Barcelona Airport's weblink right).
