Spain Tourism Guide - Spain Family Holidays

Spain's main Costa family holiday all inclusive resorts stand out with their huge number of family attractions, waterparks, best family beaches and all inclusive family holiday accommodation.

Top spots for family holiday deals include Benidorm, Torrevieja and Javea on the Costa Blanca, Torremolinos, Benalmadena Costa and Fuengirola on the Costa del Sol, Salou, La Pineda and PortAventura on the Costa Dorada and finally old family favourite - Lloret de Mar on the Costa Brava.

Waterparks Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol, Costa Dorada, Costa Brava Spain

Aqualandia, Benidorm's mammoth waterpark is the largest in Europe so waterpark fans will be in heaven here. With a choice of water rides and splashes appealing to all age ranges, Aqualandia deserves at least a couple of visits. Aqualandia Waterpark sits conveniently right near Playa De Levante to the east of the beach near Benidorm Palace. Water rides include the daring Kamikaze, Niagara, Big Bang, Amazonas, Pistas Blandas and Splash. Checkout the Aqualandia Waterpark weblink right for photos and virtual tour! A quieter and far south Costa Blanca resort (it just sneaks into the Costa Blanca), Torrevieja has much to offer for all inclusive family holidays. A large waterpark - the Aquopolis is nearby, plus Torrevieja has some pretty beaches with fine sand and good facilities. Main beaches Locos and Cura have calm waters with adjacent delightful promenade.

Torremolinos' huge Aqualand waterpark sits just 10 minutes from Torremolinos town centre and promises a whole days worth at least of water fun. New attraction - the Boomerang (see Aqualand's weblink right for photos of hair-raising Boomerang ride) is just one of the superb water rides and slides available here. Other favourites include the Black Hole involving plunging for over 100 metres round dark water lined bends. Plenty on here too for the tots including a mini park all in one swimming pool with mini slides and mock castle. The highest Kamikaze water slide in Europe is here at 22metres. You'll need to recover in the calm waters of the Laguna Tropical or relax in the Jacuzzi after than one. A gift shop, snack food outlets and restaurants, ice cream stands and even a photo processing lab are all on-site, as well as garden areas and adjacent car park. More family fun waterpark magic is available on the Costa del sol at Aquapark Mijas just 20km from Torremolinos. Aquapark Mijas sits just to the north of Fuengirola. You may well be keen to make a couple of visits to this superb Costa Del Sol Waterpark during your holiday - there's so many rides including a big wave pool, wild river, body ski, kamikaze slides and wild river.

The Costa Dorada's main waterpark Aquopolis is near Salou at La Pineda (buses run regularly from Salou to it). Great waterslides and attractions are here with old favourites - Splash and Kamikazes, plus mini golf, water pool areas for the tots, the triple slide Aquamania and river rapids and a wave pool.

Just inland from Playa Lloret at Lloret de Mar sits the Costa Brava's top waterpark - Waterworld Lloret de Mar. Incidentally the Costa Brava has two other brilliant waterparks, one at Platja D'Aro called Aquadiver and the other - Aqua Brava is at Roses to the north of the Costa Brava.

Theme Parks & Amusement Parks Costa Blanca, Costa del Sol, Costa Dorada, Costa Brava Spain

If you can't get to Rome, Greece or Egypt never mind, you can spend the day here in Benidorm's Terra Mitica instead! These mock little worlds are packed with fun amusement park rides (checkout the Labyrinth of the Minotaur in Greece!), shows (more than 50 shows daily including Gladiators fighting) and a choice of shops and restaurants. Just next door to Terra Mitica more family holiday fun's afoot at Terra Natura, a wildlife park come zoo covering a huge 320,000 square metres. Areas are split into four - Pangea, America, Asia and Europe. Elephants, parrots and tarantulas and scorpions are among the more than 1500 animals and 200 different species here. Birds of Prey and Parrot shows run alongside attractions such as face painting, donkey rides and some rather entertaining 'ancestral' dances during which all the family can let themselves go. You can even fly over the park on the 'Flying Fox'.

Conveniently close to Torremolinos near neighbouring resort Benalmadena is the whooper of an amusement park - Tivoli World. Hold onto your sun hats as Tivoli World promises a mega amusement park adventure. There's a mix of entertainments here including numerous funfair styled rides (knuckle ones for the daring and mini rides for the tots). The 60m sheer vertical drop of the relatively new Caida Libre is particularly hair-raising. There's a funfair feel here at Tivoli with old favourites like a big wheel, Twisters, Swing Boats and little carousel rides for younger visitors. Alongside this are a host of shows including flamenco dancing in the Andalusian Square, Wild West whoops in the Western Square with best barbecue Texas Grill inclusive and for smaller children the children's theatre and thematic Tivoli Landia Square performances. Also on-site are is the Tivoli Garden area, a rather jazzy botanic gardens, the model train exhibit and the Jurassic exhibit with life-size model dinosaurs!

More like a Disney styled resort than just an amusement park, PortAventura on the Costa Dorada near Salou has all inclusive family hotels, a beach club, an Aquatic park and amusement park with fun rides all on-site. Its got a real edge this amusement park complex, split as it is into several themed areas including China, Mexico, Polynesi, the Wild West and a Catalan fishing village thrown in. Demanding probably more than a one day visit (the kids' will want to go back!) there' much to cram in. Some of the rides here are guaranteed adrenalin rushes - take the Furius Baco for example which thrusts you from 0 to 135km/h in 3 sections on a loop! The shows and rides carry on into night-time too - PortAventura is a 24/7 fun park.

Magic Park, the Costa Brava's big amusement park cover 600 square metres and situated in Playa d'Aro, is guaranteed family fun. A number of fun zones sit within this park, covering the full remit of kids interests from indoor tots playground to dare devil fairground rides for older kids. An ice rink, simulators and arcade games, shows and live concerts are all to be found at Magic Park. Checkout Magic Park's weblink right for more info on all of the zones.
